Authentication from IBM Director Console to Director Agent Fails
Details
When you install the IBM Director Agent and the IBM Director Server on an ESX system, the IBM Director Agent's host name and IP address are added to the IBM Director Console, and the IBM Director Agent name appears in the Director Console.
At this point a lock against Director Agent entry indicates that access to Director Agent is restricted, and that you must log in to the system to access Director Agent. When you double-click the lock and enter the user name and password, authentication fails with the error message Target System is not currently available .
Solution
There is no reliable solution to this issue. However:
- Sometimes repeated attempts to log in eventually succeed.
- Sometimes stopping and restarting the ypbind service running in the service console helps resolve the issue.
