The ACE Management Server Configuration File for the Kerberos Network Authentication Protocol Does Not Take Effect

Details

If you install ACE Management Server on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, where Kerberos 5 is used as the network authentication protocol, the ACE-specific Kerberos 5 configuration file does not override the default configuration file as it should. The ACE-specific configuration file is:

/var/lib/vmware/acesc/conf/krb5.conf

The default Kerberos 5 configuration file is:

/etc/krb5.conf

Solution

If you want to configure ACE Management Server running on Linux to work with Active Directory, open the /etc/krb5.conf file with a text editor and set the following properties to true:

dns_lookup_realm = true
dns_lookup_kdc = true
