Changes to Encryption Suites for Web Access and Administrative Access (1007405)

Details

With VDM 2.1.1, the available encryption suites that VDM accepts to provide Web access and administrative access have changed. Only 128-bit and higher cipher suites are supported. As a result, browsers that exclusively use cipher suites with 40-bit and 56-bit encryption cannot connect to VDM. Microsoft has made the Internet Explorer High Encryption Pack available for versions of Internet Explorer 5.01 and lower. Internet Explorer 5.5 and higher versions already use 128-bit encryption.

Solution

The supported cipher strength and encryption details are as follows:

Key Exchange: EDH; Authentication: RSA; Encryption: AES(128); MAC: SHA1
Key Exchange: RSA; Authentication: RSA; Encryption: RC4(128); MAC: MD5
Key Exchange: RSA; Authentication: RSA; Encryption: RC4(128); MAC: SHA1
Key Exchange: RSA; Authentication: RSA; Encryption: AES(128); MAC: SHA1
Key Exchange: RSA; Authentication: RSA; Encryption: 3DES(128); MAC: SHA1
