Modifying the number of ports in the Lab Manager network switch (1007345)

Details

When you create a Lab Manager virtual network, a vSwitch is created with 56 ports by default. This article provides steps to change this default number of ports.

Solution

To modify the number of ports of the port group or the vSwitch managed by Lab Manager:
  1. Log in to the VI Client and select the server from the inventory panel. The hardware configuration page for the server appears.
  2. In the Configuration tab, click Networking.
  3. In the Networking window, select the vSwitch that you want to edit.
  4. Click Properties for that vSwitch. The vSwitch Properties dialog appears.
  5. Click the Ports tab.
  6. Select the vSwitch in the Configuration list and click Edit. The vSwitch Properties dialog appears.
  7. Click the General tab to set the number of ports.
  8. Select or enter the number of ports you want to use.

Note: You may have to reboot the ESX host for the changes to take effect.

  9. Click OK. The number of ports for the switch is updated.
