You Must Run Workstation as an Administrator to Create a Virtual Machine from a Windows Vista Physical Machine

Details

On Windows Vista hosts, if you want to use File > Import to create a virtual machine from a physical machine, you must run Workstation as an administrator.

Solution

Start Workstation by right-clicking the desktop icon and choosing Run as administrator.
