ESX Server hosts to be backed up should have access to the datastore in hot-add mode

Details

When you use Consolidated Backup in the hot-add transport mode, ensure that all ESX Server hosts on which virtual machines to back up reside have access to the datastore that stores your VCB proxy and shadow virtual machines. The ESX Server hosts need this access so that they can create linked clones. This issue is applicable to VCB 1.5 and VCB 1.5 Update 1.

Solution

Ensure to grant access to the datastore that stores your VCB proxy and shadow virtual machines to all ESX Server hosts to be backed up.
