Summaries and Symptoms

This patch contains an updated tzdata.rpm package, which contains data files with rules for various time zones.
 
The following countries are affected by this change:
  • Argentina switches to DST on Sunday, October 19, 2008. Argentina was previously scheduled to switch on Sunday, October 5, 2008.
  • Brazil switches to DST on Sunday, October 19, 2008. Brazil was previously scheduled to switch on Sunday, October 12, 2008.
  • Gaza Strip switches back to Standard Time on Thursday August 28, 2008. Gaza Strip was previously scheduled to switch back on Sunday, August 31, 2008.

Deployment Considerations

None beyond the required patch bundles and reboot information listed in the table, above.

Patch Download and Installation

Note: All virtual machines on the host must be either shut down or migrated using VMotion before applying the patch. A reboot of the ESX Server host is required after applying this patch.

To update ESX Server 3.0.3 hosts when not using VMware Update Manager, download the most recent patch bundle from http://support.vmware.com/selfsupport/download/ and install the bundle using esxupdate from the command line of the host.
