You might get an error when you reboot and accept the default options to add a network card on a Windows 2000 Professional or Server virtual machine that is running McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.5.0i.

Solution

To enable a network card on Windows 2000 Professional or Server virtual machine with McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.5.0i

 

  1. Stop and disable all McAfee VirusScan applications.
  2. Reboot your virtual machine.
  3. Install the network card.
  4. Enable and start McAfee applications.
  5. Restart your virtual machine.
