Verifying that the virtual desktop or server is joined to the domain

Purpose
This article provides steps for determining if the virtual desktop or server is joined to the domain.
Resolution
To verify that the virtual desktop or server is joined to the domain:

Verify that the virtual desktop or server indicates that it is joined to the domain.
To verify that the virtual desktop or server is indicating that is joined to the domain:-
Log in to the virtual desktop or server.

Click Start > Control Panel > System.

Click Computer Name.

Ensure the proper domain and computer names are listed.

Verify that Active Directory lists the virtual desktop or server in the domain's Computers OU.
To verify that Active Directory lists the virtual desktop or server in the domain's Computer OU:-
Log on to a domain controller as a Domain Admin.

Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Active Directory Users and Computers.

Choose the Computers OU container.

Verify that the host name of the server or virtual desktop appears in the list.
