Checking import prerequisites in VMware vCenter Lab Manager
Symptoms
-
Importing a virtual machine into a Lab Manager template fails
-
Cannot import a virtual machine to Lab Manager
-
You may receive this error:
LabManager.Library.Core.UnsupportedException: The import process only supports ethernet0.
Resolution
To check for import prerequisites in Lab Manager:
-
The source virtual machine can only have one network card assigned to it. Lab Manager does not support virtual machines with more than one network card.
-
If the source virtual machine contains snapshots, you must import a cloned copy of that virtual machine. For more information, see Importing a virtual machine with snapshots in VMware vCenter Lab Manager (1002375).
-
The import may fail if the source folder or directory contains vmxf or nvram files. Delete these files from the source and try importing again.
-
The virtual disk controller type on the source must be SCSI and not IDE.
