VMware Consolidated Backup fails after upgrading VirtualCenter (1006738)

Symptoms

  • Performing a backup with VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB) fails after upgrading VirtualCenter
  • The VCBsnapshot command fails
  • You see an error similar to:

    unable to contact host, machine actively refused connection.

Resolution

This issue may occur if the installed version of VCB is not supported by the upgraded version of VirtualCenter.
 
To ensure that the versions are compatible, refer to the vSphere Compatibility Matrixes.
