Troubleshooting Lab Manager agent component installation or upgrade issues
Symptoms

Lab Manager agent (lm-agent [2.x] , vsla-agent [3.0]) installation does not complete or fails

Upgrading the Lab Manager agent fails
Resolution
Validate that each troubleshooting step below is true for your environment. The steps will provide instructions or a link to a document, for validating the step and taking corrective action as necessary. The steps are ordered in the most appropriate sequence to isolate the issue and identify the proper resolution. Please do not skip a step.
- Verify network connectivity and DNS name resolution between Lab Manager and the ESX host. For more information, see:
- ESX/ESXi hosts have intermittent or no network connectivity (1004109)
- Testing network connectivity with the ping command (1003486)
- Verify that the ESX host is configured properly for use with Lab Manager before installing the agent. For more information, see Configuring an ESX server for lm-agent installation (1006964).

If you are upgrading, confirm that the current version of the agent is running correctly. For more information, see Troubleshooting the Lab Manager Agent and checking the installed version (1006706).

If you are upgrading, confirm that the Internet Information Services (IIS) or vCenter Lab Manager Monitor service is started. For more information, see Opening the vCenter Lab Manager Management page fails (1038411).
