Settings changes to a native application populate the deployed instance incorrectly

Symptoms

  • Application settings are changed in a natively installed instance of an application
  • The settings of the deployed virtualized application do not change (or change unexpectedly)

Resolution

Validate that each troubleshooting step below is true for your environment. The steps will provide instructions or a link to a document, for validating the step and taking corrective action as necessary. The steps are ordered in the most appropriate sequence to isolate the issue and identify the proper resolution. Please do not skip a step.

  1. The application settings may not change if the package did not properly include all the settings. Verify that the application settings were properly captured into the package. For more information, see Settings missing in deployed applications (1006990).

  2. Confirm that the isolation modes set for the package, folders, and registry keys are set to the correct mode for the desired operation. For more information, see Verifying isolation mode usage (1006991).

  3. Confirm that the problem is not listed as a known issue in the ThinApp Release Notes.
