Troubleshooting the build process in VMware ThinApp
Symptoms

When executing build.bat either nothing happens or appears, or the window stops responding and does not complete the process.

Executing build.bat fails.

While building the application package, a Command Prompt window quickly appears and disappears or displays the message:

Purpose
Resolution
Validate that each troubleshooting step below is true for your environment. The steps provide instructions or a link to a document, for validating the step and taking corrective action as necessary. The steps are ordered in the most appropriate sequence to isolate the issue and identify the proper resolution. Do not skip a step.
- Verify that ThinApp has been installed and used correctly. For more information, see Supported ThinApp installation methods and usage (1006963).
- Confirm that the
THINSTALL_BINenvironment variable is set to the correct path. For more information, see Configuring ThinApp to run from a non-default location (1006159). - Confirm that you have a valid license installed to run ThinApp. For licensing information, see Accessing VMware ThinApp licenses (1006267).
