Troubleshooting VMware ThinApp installation issues
Symptoms

Installation of ThinApp does not complete

Cannot install ThinApp

A copied installation folder or a copy executed from a network share does not run
Resolution
Validate that each troubleshooting step below is true for your environment. The steps provides instructions or a link to a document, for validating the step and taking corrective action as necessary. The steps are ordered in the most appropriate sequence to isolate the issue and identify the proper resolution. Please do not skip a step.
- Verify that you are executing or installing ThinApp from an account with administrative privileges.
- Check the list of operating systems supported by ThinApp. For more information, see the Operating Systems, Applications, and Systems That ThinApp Supports section of the VMware ThinApp User's Guide.
- Verify that you are installing ThinApp on a clean computer. For more information, see the Using a Clean PC for Capturing section of the VMware ThinApp User's Manual.
- Confirm you have a valid license installed to run ThinApp. For licensing information, see Accessing VMware ThinApp licenses (1006267).
