Troubleshooting virtual machines that are stuck in a customizing state
Symptoms

Deployed virtual machine desktops are stuck in the Customizing state

The Virtual Desktop Manager web admin interface shows Customizing
Resolution
Validate that each troubleshooting step below is true for your environment. The steps will provide instructions or a link to a document, for validating the step and taking corrective action as necessary. The steps are ordered in the most appropriate sequence to isolate the issue and identify the proper resolution. Please do not skip a step.

Test the network connectivity and verify that the required VDM ports are available and that DNS name resolution is working between Agent and Connection Server. For more information, see Testing connectivity between the agent and the connection server (1006734) .

Verify that the virtual machine template has been prepared correctly for customization and that the agent software is working correctly. For more information, see Correctly preparing a virtual machine template for deployment (1006806).

Verify that the guest customization settings are correct and working and that the Virtual Infrastructure is not reporting errors. For more information, see Validating guest customization when preparing a virtual machine template for deployment (1006842).
