Troubleshooting LDAP query errors

Symptoms

  • Cannot see the domain or any users when attempting to entitle a user
  • The logs are full of errors from LDAP ([ws_ldap])
  • You receive the following error:

    AD Query: error executing LDAP AD Query

Resolution

Validate that each troubleshooting step below is true for your environment. The steps will provide instructions or a link to a document, for validating the step and taking corrective action as necessary. The steps are ordered in the most appropriate sequence to isolate the issue and identify the proper resolution. Please do not skip a step.

  1. Confirm that the connection broker server is joined to the domain. For more information, see Verifying that the virtual desktop or server is joined to the domain (1006804).
  2. Verify that the server's SID is unique on the network. For more information, see Microsoft's  How To Find and Clean Up Duplicate Security Identifiers with Ntdsutil in Windows 2000  article.
