Support for NetQueue on ESX Server 3i version 3.5 Update 2
Details
NetQueue is supported on ESX Server 3i version 3.5 Update 2 using Remote Command Line Interface.
The following network adapters are supported:

Solution
Enable NetQueue in VMkernel using the VI Client as follows:
1. Log in to the VI Client.
2. Click the Configuration tab for the ESX Server host.
3. Click Advanced Settings.
4. Click VMkernel.
5. Select the checkbox for VMkernel.Boot.netNetqueueEnabled.
To enable NetQueue on the s2io/ixgbe modules, run the following commands:
/usr/bin/vicfg-module -server <server> -s "intr_type=2 rx_ring_num=8" s2io
/usr/bin/vicfg-module -server <server> -s "InterruptType=2,2 VMDQ=16,16" ixgbe
To verify that the module parameters have been applied:
/usr/bin/vicfg-module -server <server> -s "intr_type=2 rx_ring_num=8" s2io
/usr/bin/vicfg-module -server <server> -s "InterruptType=2,2 VMDQ=16,16" ixgbe
To verify that the module parameters have been applied:
1. Run the command: /usr/bin/vicfg-module -server <server> -g s2io OR /usr/bin/vicfg-module -server <server> -g ixgbe
2. Reboot the ESX Server host.
2. Reboot the ESX Server host.
Note: The netPktHeapMinSize and netPktHeapMaxSize limits for ESX Server 3.5 Update 1 have not changed and the information in KB 1004593 is still applicable for Intel 10G network adapters.
