Collecting diagnostic information for VMware Stage Manager 1.0.x
Details
VMware Technical Support routinely requests the diagnostic information from you when a support request is addressed. This diagnostic information contains product specific logs and configuration files from the host on which the product is run. This information is gathered using a specific script or tool within the product.
This article provides procedures for obtaining diagnostic information for VMware Stage Manager 1.0.
The diagnostic information obtained by using this article is uploaded to VMware Technical Support. To uniquely identify your information, use the Support Request (SR) number you receive when you create the new SR.

Solution
Use the following procedure to obtain logs for VMware Stage Manager:
Stage Manager Server Logs

Log into Stage Manager as a Stage Manager Administrator

Go to Support

Click the SupportLink tab

Click the Collect button
-
Wait for a few moments and a link will appear that will allow you to download the logs
Note: If the Stage Manager interface is not available, these logs are typicall in [C:]\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware Stage Manager\Logs\*.*
Stage Manager Server Install Logs
If the issue is install releated, gather the following logs in the root install directory (typically C:)

VMWInstallhelper.log
-
VMWInstallIIS.log
-
VMWPreReqCheck.log
-
VMWSetConfiguration.log
Stage Manager Agent logs
If the problem appears to be host related, collect the following logs
/var/log/stagemanager/*.*
/etc/stagemanager/*.* (especiallly yum.log and agentconf.xml)
