Product Compatibility between VMware Stage Manager and VMware Site Recovery Manager

This article provides compatibility information between VMware Stage Manager and VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).

If you work with Stage Manager and SRM, review these compatibility issues:

You can use SRM to protect virtual machines that reside in the same cluster, host, storage, or resource pool as Stage Manager virtual machines.
SRM does not protect undeployed virtual machines in Stage Manager because those virtual machines are unregistered from VirtualCenter.
If you clone a Stage Manager virtual machine in Stage Manager, SRM interprets the original virtual machine and the clone as two new virtual machines. If you used SRM to protect the original virtual machine, you must update your protection groups.
