Starting License Server and VirtualCenter Server services

Purpose

This article provides steps to start the Licensing server and VirtualCenter services.

Resolution

You must restart the License Server and VirtualCenter Server services after uploading new licenses to the License server. 
 
To restart the services:
  1. Log in to the server that is running VirtualCenter and License Server, as an administrator.
  2. Click Start > Run.
  3. Type services.msc
  4. Press Enter.
  5. From the list of services right-click on the VMware License Server service.
  6. Click Restart or Start and wait for the service to be started.
  7. From the list of services right-click on the VMware VirtualCenter Server service.
  8. Click Restart or Start and wait for the service to be started.

Additional Information

If you have problems starting the VMware License Server , you should check Windows Task Manager to see if the process has stopped responding, or more than one instance are running.
