Extending a RDM with snapshots can result in corrupted data

Symptoms

  • Data is corrupt on RDMs
  • You have recently increased the size of your RDM

Resolution

Always commit snapshots prior to making an configuration changes to a virtual machine, including increasing the size of an RDM.
 
Failure to have snapshots committed before performing these changes can result in data corruption.
