Symptoms

After connecting VMware Infrastructure (VI) Client to VirtualCenter, you see the error:
Input string was not in a correct format -
This error also occurs when you select any host or virtual machine

The VMware Host Update Utility that installs with the VI Client may also produce this error
Resolution
This issue can occur if the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International\sPositiveSign has an incorrect value in the Windows Registry. You must reset the value.
