ESX Boot-from-SAN Configuration with Xiotech Magnitude 3D 3000 Storage Array Might Not Boot Properly

ESX Server might not boot properly with the following configuration:

ESX Server 3.0.1 with default 4GB Fibre Channel HBA driver
ESX Server is configured to boot from Xiotech Magnitude 3D 3000 storage array

Solution

Xiotech has released DataScale Software 5.0.5 which fixes a condition that causes the ESX Server host not to boot properly in the aforementioned boot-from-SAN configuration. Please upgrade the DataScale software to version 5.0.5 in the storage array.
