Database Upgrade Fails if the Preserve Performance Data Option is Unchecked (1004353)

Details

When upgrading an Oracle VirtualCenter database, if the Preserve Performance Data option is deselected, the database upgrade fails and the following error is found in the log:

Error: Aborting upgrade because of an exception. Exception details: ERROR [HY000] [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]Trigger, procedure or function created with PL/SQL compilation error(s).

Solution

This issue is fixed in VirtualCenter 2.5 Update 1. The fix introduced in this release ensures that:

  • The database upgrade succeeds even if the Preserve Performance Data option is deselected.
  • If an earlier database upgrade attempt failed, running the upgrade installer to perform a repair will succeed (with the Preserve Performance Data option deselected).
