Connecting a Remote CD-ROM or Floppy Drive to a Virtual Machine Fails with a No Permission Error

Details

In VirtualCenter 2.5, create a user with administrator access to a single virtual machine. Access the virtual machine as this user and try connect a remote CD-ROM or floppy drive. The operation fails with an error similar to the following:

Vmomi.Fault.NoPermission: Permission to perform this operation was denied.

Solution

This error is raised due to a dynamic privilege checking code. The code has been rectified in VirtualCenter 2.5 Update 1, and this issue has been resolved.
