Unable to log in to a cloned Windows Vista virtual machine using the Administrator account (1004301)
Details
If you clone a Microsoft Windows Vista virtual machine that has the Administrator account enabled on the local system, you may experience these symptoms:
-
You cannot log in to the cloned virtual machine using the Administrator account.
-
You may see the following error when trying to login to the virtual machine from the console:
-
Access Denied
-
Not enough resources are available to complete this operation
Solution
By default, Sysprep creates an Administrator account during the clone process. If the source virtual machine already has an Administrator account, customization will stop responding during the mini-setup, and auto-logons to the cloned virtual machine with the Administrator account will be disabled.
To workaround the issue, do not enable the Administrator account on the source virtual machine, or disable the Administrator account in the source virtual machine before cloning.
