Upgrade Fails if VirtualCenter Database Name Has More than 20 Characters (1004297)

Details

Upgrading to VirtualCenter 2.5 from an earlier version fails if the VirtualCenter database name has more that 20 characters. This issue occurs when using Microsft SQL Server.

Solution

This issue has been resolved in VirtualCenter 2.5 Update 1. The character limit for database names has been increased to 123 characters for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 128 characters for Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
