Required settings for USB audio devices shared using the Virtual Desktop Manager Client
Details
This article provides details about the required settings for USB audio devices shared by the Virtual Desktop Manager (VDM) Client.
Solution
USB audio devices shared using the VDM Client device sharing capability must have the Audio Redirection mode set to:
Play in VM (needed for VoIP USB support).
Note: This setting is required for VoIP USB support and is especially important when using composite devices with both a microphone and speakers such as a VOiP phone.
For instructions on changing this setting using a registry key setting or Group Policy Objects, see Appendix A and B in the VMware Virtual Desktop Manager 2.0 Installation and Administration Guide.
