Overview of migration compatibility error messages
Symptoms
- Errors or warnings appear during the compatibility check of a virtual machine when attempting to do a migration.

Overview
Migration compatibility checks are done on each migration that is performed through VirtualCenter. The checks aim to eliminate common misconfiguration in your environment, but can sometimes be cryptic to understand. The most common errors are listed below by category of error message. Click on the link associated with error message to get more information on the error.
CPU compatibility messages

Unable to migrate from <source server> to <destination server>: The CPU of the host is incompatible with the CPU feature requirements of the virtual machine; problem detected at CPUID level 0x80000001 register 'edx' .
