VI Perl Toolkit Script to Reconnect Non-Responding Hosts

Details

If the IP address of a VirtualCenter Server system changes, managed hosts will go into a non-responding state.

Solution

When a host is managed by VirtualCenter Server, the IP address of the VirtualCenter Server is stored in the VirtualCenter Agent configuration file on the host.  To update the Agent configuration file, the host must be disconnected and reconnected.

A VI Perl Toolkit script has been created that will automatically perform this operation.

For more information, and to download the script, see: http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-2373
