Mounting Installation Disk Using HP iLO (Integrated Lights-Out) Causes Installation Errors if System ROM is Out of Date (1003305)

Details

When you mount the installation disk using HP iLO, the installation fails if the HP System ROM is out of date.
This installation issue occurs if you use HP iLO to remotely connect the installation media.
The issue affects HP DL380 G5 servers with System ROM version P56 11/08/2006.

Solution

You can resolve the issue in one fo these ways:

Go to http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html to download updated System ROM image.
Use the local CD-ROM drive for installation (if possible).
