The updfstab processes in the service console stop responding
Solution
A bug in the ehci-hcd USB driver in the ESX Server service console can cause programs that try to access USB CD-ROMs or floppy drives to stop responding.
To work around this problem:
-
Log in to the service console as root.
-
Use a text editor to open the file /etc/modules.conf . For example
nano /etc/modules.conf . -
Add # to the beginning of the line that contains ehci-hcd .
-
Save and close the file.
-
Reboot the ESX Server host.
