VirtualCenter Server Installation Fails or Results in Error if Your System Does Not Have MDAC 2.8 SP1 or Later Installed (1003160)

Details

If your system does not have Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 SP1 installed and you attempt to install VirtualCenter Server with the bundled Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express database, installation fails. If you use any other database, the error message Object Creation Failed appears, but installation continues and finishes successfully.

Solution

If you plan to use the bundled Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express database for your VirtualCenter, download MDAC 2.8 SP1 or later from the Microsoft Web site.
