"Unable to change license status as the license server is not available" Error Received While Switching License Source to Evaluation

Details

When you switch the license source on your ESX Server host to Evaluation after the ESX Server evaluation period of 60 days has passed, you get the error message "Unable to change license state as license server is not available."

Solution

If you need to use features that are supported in the evaluation edition after 60 days, upgrade your ESX Server license. See http://www.vmware.com/info?id=452.
