VMware Consolidated Backup Cannot Create Quiesced Snapshots of Virtual Machines Running Microsoft Windows Vista (1003074)

Details

The sync driver, which is responsible for creating quiesced snapshots, is not present in virtual machines with Microsoft Windows Vista. As a result, when you back up virtual machines with Microsoft Windows Vista using VMware Consolidated Backup 1.1, the file system consistency for backup snapshots cannot be guaranteed.

Solution

There is no workaround.

To resolve the issue, upgrade to version of VMware Consolidated Backup 1.2 or later and ensure that the latest version of VMware Tools is installed in the virtual machine.
