VirtualCenter Server cannot perform Consolidation Analysis (1003062)

Details

  • VirtualCenter Server cannot perform Consolidation Analysis

    Note
: This issue may occur when the VirtualCenter Server is installed on a machine running a non-English version of Windows.
  • You see the error:

Connection to perfmon failed.  Remote registry disabled or the collector service is not running with administrator privileges.

Solution

Ensure that the collector service is running as a user with administrative access across the domain and is running as a local service. These settings are not configured by default.

Note: Consolidation Analysis is only supported for Windows operating systems.

To verify collector service settings:
  1. Select Administration > Consolidation Settings > Credentials tab.
  2. Click Change with regard to Service Credentials. Ensure the account has Administrative privileges on the VirtualCenter Server.
  3. Ensure that the account can log on as a service. The Log on as a service setting is changed in the Windows Local Security Policy utility (Start > Administrator Tools > Local Security Policy).
  4. Enter a domain‐qualified user name (for example, DOMAIN\username) and password.
  5. Confirm the password and click OK.
