Legacy vmware-toolbox Script Tab Settings Revert to Default After VMware Tools Upgrade (1003047)

Details

For ESX Server 2.5.x or ESX Server 3.0.x virtual machines running Linux guest operating systems, if you upgrade the virtual machine tools to VMware Tools version 3.5, the settings on the Script tab of vmware-toolbox revert to the default settings.

Solution

Reconfigure custom script settings after upgrading VMware Tools.
 
This issue has been resolved in ESX Server 3.5 Update 4.
