Paravirtualization Option Is Not Disabled for Unsupported Operating Systems (1003008)

Details

Paravirtualization is not supported on the following guest operating systems:
  • Windows Vista 32-bit
  • Windows Server 2003 32-bit
  • Windows XP, SP2 32-bit
  • Windows 2000
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2, 3, 4, and 5 32-bit
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9, SP4 32-bit
  • All 64-bit operating systems

Solution

Disable paravirtualization on virtual machines running the guest operation systems that do not support it. Otherwise, unexpected results might occur.
 
To resolve this issue, disable paravirtualization on the virtual machine:
  1. Power off virtual machine.
  2. Right-click the virtual machine and select Edit Settings.
  3. Click the Options table.
  4. Under Settings, select Paravirtualization.
  5. Deselect the Support VMI Paravirtualization checkbox.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Power on the virtual machine.
