Error during the configuration of the host: Unable to create Filesystem - NetApp LUN Type Should Be Set to VMware

Details

When you map a NetApp LUN to an ESX Server host (while configuring storage using VI Client), the following error message displays if you did not correctly configure the LUN using the NetApp LUN wizard in the FAS system console or in the FilerView user interface.

Solution

In the NetApp LUN wizard, set the LUN Protocol Type to VMware. The following example shows this setting in the FilerView user interface.
