Performing V2P (virtual to physical) migrations

Details

Converter currently supports migrating a physical machine to a virtual machine (P2V). However there does not seem to be a procedure for performing the migration in the other direction (V2P). Is this supported?

Solution

Neither Converter, nor any other VMware product, currently supports going from a virtual machine to a physical machine.

VMware provides a guide for performing V2P migrations, at  http://www.vmware.com/support/v2p/ .

Note: The technical note and sample configurations for performing a virtual to physical conversion are provided for information only .
