Guest Operating System Standby Feature Removed in VirtualCenter Server 2.5 (1002414)
Details
In VirtualCenter Server 2.5, the option to put a guest operating system into standby mode using the VI Client has been removed. You can still place a guest operating system on standby from within the guest itself.
This change affects the following areas of the VI Client user interface:
- The Standby Guest command has been removed from all menus.
- On the VMware Tools page of the Virtual Machine Properties dialog box, the option to set the Pause button to put the guest operating system into standby mode has been removed.
Existing virtual machines that are configured to go into standby mode when the Pause button is clicked continue to display this option on the VMware Tools page until the setting is edited. However, regardless of the setting, clicking the Pause button on the toolbar suspends the virtual machine rather than placing it on standby.
