On SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 hosts, if you have changed your display resolution to certain non-default resolutions, you might not see the memory slider control in the Workstation user interface.
This control appears in the New Virtual Machine wizard, if you select the Custom option. One of the wizard pages that appears in this case lets you adjust the amount of memory the virtual machine uses. The other location where this memory slider apprears is the in the Virtual Machine Settings Editor, on the Hardware > Memory settings panel.
Solution
The screen resolutions that are known to cause the memory slider to be missing are:
- 1024x600
- 1280x600
One resolution that is known to work properly is:
- 1024x708 (XGA)
