vcbMounter Fails and Reports the Exception: "vmodl.fault.HostNotReachable"

Details

When running a virtual machine mount using vcbMounter from the Windows proxy, and the network connection is removed or disabled, vcbMounter fails and reports an exception message. Network connection failure also results in a failed attempt to delete snapshots. The failure is reported in the hostd.log.

Solution

After you have restored the network, you do one of the following:
  1. Restart the vmount service.
  2. Run an umount operation and delete the snapshot manually.
