VMX Configuration Values for Ethernet Are not Retrievable Using Current Perl Scripting API and vmware-cmd (1001575)

Details

The mechanism to retrieve the VMX values changed from ESX Server 2.x to ESX Server 3.0.x and caused a lack of implementation for supporting Ethernet values for ESX Server 3.0.x.
 
Note: Sound and USB configuration values are not implemented, either, as they are not supported in VI3.

Solution

This is a known issue. There is no workaround.
