Video Output Is Lost When Transitioning from Wyse RDP to Windows RDP on Another System (1001529)

Details

This problem arises when a client device is connected to a host system and is playing a video through Windows Media Player. If the remote session is terminated, and another client connects to the host, the new client does not show any video output.

Solution

This is the expected behavior based on the current implementation. The multimedia acceleration capabilities are determined when the media file is first opened for playback. When the client is disconnected, DirectShow stops the playback and is not able to resume until the file is reloaded.

Reload the file in one of the following ways:
  • Double-click the video file in the playlist to reload it.
  • Re-open Windows Media Player and reload the file.
