Number of Network Cards Supported During Default Installation of Solaris 10U3 64-Bit Virtual Machine (1001203)

Details

When installing a Solaris 10U3 64-bit virtual machine with a minimum 640 MB memory and more than two virtual network cards, the system stops responding.

Solution

640 MB of memory supports installation with only two virtual e1000 network cards in the virtual machine. Increase the guest operating system's memory size in blocks of 64 MB or more for every additional virtual network card.
