ESX Server 3.0.1 Support for Built-In NVIDIA nForce Gigabit Ethernet on Sun Blade X6220 Server Modules

Details

ESX Server 3.0.1 does not support the NVIDIA nForce Gigabit Ethernet networking built into the Sun Blade X6220 server modules.

Solution

Use the (optional) two-port Gigabit Ethernet PCIe ExpressModule (Sun SKU X7282A-Z). This part is based on the Intel Gigabit Ethernet chipset, which is supported under ESX Server 3.0.1.
