ESX Server 2.5.5: The vmware-cmd -H remote-host Command Does Not Work from a ESX Server 2.x Host for a Remote ESX Server 3.x Remote Host

Details

If you execute the command vmware-cmd -H remote-host from an ESX Server 2.x machine and the remote host is running ESX Server 3.x, the command fails. The command vmware-cmd -H remote-host succeeds when run from an ESX Server 3.x machine if the remote-host is running ESX Server 2.x.

Solution

There is no workaround available at this time.
