Unable to restart VirtualCenter after SQL Server fails
Details
-

-
Can't start VirtualCenter
-
VirtualCenter fails to start after database fails
-
SQL Server fails and now VirtualCenter does not start
Solution
Check the vpxd logs for errors. The errors tell you exactly why VirtualCenter is not starting.
Resolution #1:
Prior to noticing the service had stopped, the SQL Server was run low on disk space.
Clear up space on the local drives and restart SQL Server.
Resolution #2:
SQL Server had failed due to lack of free disk space which means VirtualCenter cannot start.
Ensure there is not a connection lock existing on the VirtualCenter database. Restart SQL Server. The lock is released. Start the VirtualCenter Service.
